We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Purchaser to join our purchasing team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to start their career in purchasing and procurement. The successful candidate will work closely with senior team members, supporting the procurement of goods and services while learning how to negotiate effectively with suppliers to secure the best deals for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Vendor Coordination and Support:

  • Assist in communicating with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery schedules, and pricing.
  • Learn and support negotiation efforts for pricing, delivery terms, and payment conditions under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Build relationships with suppliers to ensure smooth and reliable supply.

Purchase Order Management:

  • Help create and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in quantity, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Assist in tracking and following up on orders to ensure timely deliveries.

Price and Cost Management:

  • Support cost-saving initiatives by researching potential suppliers and helping compare prices.
  • Learn how to negotiate pricing and payment terms with suppliers, with guidance from senior team members.

Market Research and Supplier Evaluation:

  • Conduct basic market research to compare products, prices, and supplier reliability.
  • Help assess potential suppliers based on quality, pricing, and service, and provide recommendations.

Inventory Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the inventory team to ensure stock levels are maintained, helping avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Assist in coordinating with suppliers to adjust orders based on inventory needs.

Invoice and Documentation Support:

  • Help process and track supplier invoices, ensuring all costs and orders are documented accurately.
  • Assist in reconciling any discrepancies with suppliers through follow-up and negotiation where needed.

Qualifications:

  • A keen interest in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn negotiation techniques.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and the ability to quickly learn procurement software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and build professional relationships with vendors.
